GTA 6 price, pre-orders and editions

How much does GTA 6 cost?

Take-Two’s June 24 announcement lists the base game at US$79.99 and Ultimate Edition at US$99.99. Ultimate therefore costs US$20 more. Those are US list prices, not a worldwide price converted into one currency; regional pricing and applicable tax are determined by the storefront.

A US$100 base-game price was discussed before the announcement. The published US$79.99 base price is the figure to use for the standard game, while US$99.99 applies to Ultimate Edition.

Standard vs Ultimate Edition

The base purchase includes the single-player game. Ultimate Edition adds exclusive premium vehicles, weapons, clothing and action content integrated into Jason and Lucia’s storyline. Its extras are part of the game’s progression rather than a separate release date.

The announcement used here does not give an upgrade price or a full upgrade procedure. An assumption that buying Standard and upgrading later will cost exactly the same as buying Ultimate upfront should be checked against the actual store offer.

Pre-order bonuses and the Vintage Vice City Pack

Pre-orders and purchases made before November 20, 2026 receive the Vintage Vice City Pack, a collection of retro-themed items. This purchase promotion is separate from the premium content attached to Ultimate Edition.

Digital pre-orders also receive one complimentary month of GTA+, immediately redeemable for access to GTA V and other titles through its library. Check the linked offer’s eligibility and redemption conditions, especially if you already have a subscription.

Does a physical copy include a disc?

Take-Two describes the retail product as a boxed download code, available November 12 to enable preloading. GamesRadar’s June 24 report additionally states that the box will not include a disc. A box on a retailer’s shelf therefore should not be treated as evidence of disc-based installation.

This distinction matters for download access and collecting: a redemption code is tied to the relevant platform and account conditions, and the game still needs to be downloaded. Check the exact retailer listing and region before ordering. A later disc edition is not established by the announcement.

When can you preload GTA 6?

Digital pre-orders can preload from November 12, 2026, one week before launch. Boxed download codes are also scheduled for November 12. Preloading downloads the game ahead of release; it does not mean early access to the campaign.

The announcement does not specify the final download size or a worldwide unlock hour. Leave capacity for the game and possible updates, then use the platform’s product page for the precise storage requirement and local release time when those details are available.
